종북

'북한을 추종한다'는 뜻으로, 북한 체제나 지도부를 맹목적으로 따른다고 여겨지는 개인이나 세력을 가리키는 정치 용어다. 2008년 무렵 진보 정당 내부 논쟁에서 대중화되었으며, 비판적 지칭으로 보는 시각과 상대를 공격하는 낙인·색깔론으로 보는 시각이 맞선다.

Literally "following the North" — a Korean political label for people or groups seen as blindly supporting North Korea's regime. Some treat it as a descriptive criticism, while others see it as a smear used to tar opponents as pro-North.
