열정페이

'열정'과 영어 'pay'를 합친 말로, 경력을 쌓게 해 준다는 명목으로 청년에게 무급이나 최저임금에 못 미치는 돈만 주고 일을 시키는 관행을 비꼬는 말이다.

"Passion pay" — sarcastic term for paying young workers or interns little or nothing on the grounds that they're gaining experience and should be grateful for the chance.
