가붕개

'가재·붕어·개구리'의 줄임말로, 계층 상승이 어려운 평범한 서민을 가리킨다. 개천에서 용이 되지 않아도 가재·붕어·개구리로 행복하게 살 수 있어야 한다는 한 정치인의 과거 발언에서 나왔으며, 주로 계층 고착을 자조하거나 풍자할 때 쓴다.

Short for "crayfish, crucian carp, frog" — ordinary people with little chance of climbing the social ladder. Often used wryly to mock the idea that everyone should be content staying in the "stream" while elites rise.
