incel

Short for "involuntary celibate": someone, usually a man, who wants but can't find a romantic or sexual partner and blames others, especially women. Also tossed around as an insult — "He's giving incel energy."

'비자발적 독신(involuntary celibate)'의 줄임말로, 연애·성관계를 원하지만 하지 못하고 그 원인을 타인, 특히 여성에게 돌리는 사람(주로 남성)이나 그런 온라인 하위문화를 가리킨다. 모욕적인 의미로도 쓰인다.
